## ABOUT THE KULISH INNOVATION LAB The Kulish School in Jagatpura, Jaipur, is an IB school building an R&D; centre for the future of
education:
twelve labs across every major stream, where children aged 5 to 18 learn by building real things, and where we study and publish what works. You will join as one of four founders, on a dedicated floor, with the backing of the school and a three-phase plan to 2030. ## THE ROLE You will build and run the physical side of the lab: the Fabrication Studio, the electronics and robotics bay, and the Space & Earth projects. You will set up the machines, make them secure, and spend most of your week building alongside students, from 8-year-olds wiring their first circuit to 17-year-olds designing products for real clients. You will conceive and develop ambitious, real-world engineering projects for students, such as a life-size solar-powered car, home-assistance robots and other innovative physical systems. You will translate these projects into structured learning modules, lesson plans and hands-on activities that teach the underlying science, engineering principles, design process and practical applications. You will also develop new project models and innovative learning concepts that push the boundaries of conventional classroom learning. ## WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Specify, buy, install and commission fabrication and electronics equipment with the Director.
- Write machine safety rules and run the student licence system for laser cutters, CNC and power tools.
- Design and lead problem-first builds: teardowns, robots, drones, weather stations and assistive devices.
- Conceive and develop new engineering projects, prototypes and innovative physical systems, including large-scale projects such as solar-powered vehicles and home-assistance robots.
- Convert engineering projects into structured learning modules,
lesson plans and hands-on activities that help students understand, build, test and improve real-world systems.
- Develop innovative project models that connect scientific principles with practical engineering, design thinking and real-world applications.
- Run the physical engineering side of the grand simulations and Grand Challenge projects.
- Coach students on design for making, testing and iteration; maintain build logs as evidence of learning.
- Support science teachers with experimental rigs and data loggers.
- Maintain equipment, consumables and inventory with the Programme Manager.
- Train teachers to use the tools confidently. ## IN YOUR FIRST YEAR YOU WILL HAVE
- Commissioned the Make zone and the electronics bay with zero serious safety incidents.
- Licensed every Builder-stage student on at least two machines.
- Led at least eight student build projects to working prototypes, including one used by a real client.
- Developed structured learning modules around selected engineering projects, enabling students to learn through hands-on design, construction, testing and iteration. ## YOU HAVE
- A degree in mechanical, electrical, electronics, mechatronics or a related engineering field from a leading institution, or equivalent proven hands-on work.
- Three or more years of hands-on prototyping or product development: CAD, 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC, PCB design or embedded systems.
- Projects you built with your own hands that you can show and explain.
- The ability to turn engineering concepts into practical projects and structured learning experiences for students.
- Strong safety habits and the patience to teach. ## GOOD TO HAVE Robotics or competition mentoring; experience at a hardware startup; expertise in drones, IoT or renewable energy; some software skills (Python, C for microcontrollers).
