About the Role
Opvia is hiring a Data Scientist to turn complex data into practical insights and predictive solutions. You’ll work with business teams to identify opportunities, build machine learning models, and measure their impact on real business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
• Collect, clean, and analyse structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
• Conduct exploratory analysis to identify patterns, trends, and business opportunities.
• Build and evaluate models for forecasting, customer segmentation, classification, and other business needs.
• Design experiments and analyse A/B tests to support business decisions.
• Create meaningful features and develop reproducible data preparation and modelling workflows.
• Work with engineering teams to deploy models and monitor their performance.
• Present findings through clear visualisations, reports, and actionable recommendations.
• Document assumptions, methods, and limitations to ensure reliable results. What We’re Looking For




• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in data science or applied machine learning.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and data visualisation libraries.
• Solid understanding of statistics, hypothesis testing, regression, and model evaluation.
• Experience working with real-world datasets, including missing values, outliers, and inconsistent data.
• Ability to translate business problems into analytical approaches and explain results to non-technical stakeholders.
• Robust ownership, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• A degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Good to Have
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with model deployment, Git, and MLOps practices.
• Exposure to time-series forecasting, NLP, recommendation systems, or deep learning.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools.
