and its services is available at www.4ovation.com. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Steel Connection Design Engineer role based in Chennai. The Steel Connection Design Engineer will design and analyze steel connections for structural steel projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client specifications. The role includes preparing design calculations, connection sketches, and technical documentation to support detailing and fabrication. The engineer will collaborate closely with internal detailing teams, project managers, and external stakeholders to resolve design issues, optimize connection solutions, and maintain project schedules. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve reviewing shop drawings,



coordinating with checking teams, responding to RFIs, and supporting quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications
• Structural engineering expertise, including steel design fundamentals, load path understanding, and familiarity with relevant design codes and standards.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software commonly used for steel connection design (e.g., MathCAD, RAM Connection, Descon, Giza, Risa Connection, IDEA StatiCa, or equivalent), and comfort working with Tekla, SDS and detailing tools.
• Strong technical drawing interpretation skills, including reading and reviewing structural and fabrication drawings, and preparing clear connection sketches and documentation.
• Applied problem-solving skills for connection detailing and coordination, with the ability to assess constructability, fabrication requirements, and erection constraints.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaborating with project managers, checkers, detailers, and external design teams in a deadline-driven environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering (or a closely related discipline) from an accredited institution.
• Prior experience in steel connection design, structural steel detailing, or related steel industry work is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with US design practices and standards (such as AISC, AWS, and applicable building codes) is an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in Chennai with a focus on accuracy, accountability, and continuous career development.
