Appsoleut Games is a fast-growing mobile gaming studio based in Gurugram, India. We make open-world driving, racing and simulation games played by millions of people worldwide. Our games consistently rank in the Top 30 Racing games in the USA, and once briefly beat Nintendo's Mario Kart in Japan. Our goal is to become a global leader in mobile gaming. We're a fun-loving, open-minded team where everyone has a voice. The role We're looking for a 3D Environment Artist who builds great-looking open worlds in Unity and makes them shine on mobile. You'll own environments from modeling to final lighting, and capture the screenshots and beauty shots that sell our games on the app stores.
What you'll do
• Build open-world environments in Unity. Model, texture and dress roads, cities, highways, terrain and parking areas, from blockout to final polish.
• Light our worlds. Set up and tune scene lighting in URP: baked and mixed lighting, lightmaps, light probes, reflection probes, skyboxes, fog and time-of-day.
• Capture screenshots and beauty shots. Set up cameras, compositions and post-processing to produce high-resolution store screenshots, key art and marketing captures, including variants for store A/B tests.
• Keep it rapid on mobile. Hit poly, texture and draw-call budgets using LODs, occlusion culling, atlasing and batching. Profile scenes and fix what's slow.
• Create game-ready assets. Build props, buildings, vegetation and natural elements with clean UVs and PBR materials.
• Work across the team. Partner with the Art Director, level designers and programmers to get environments into the game and keep the visual style consistent.
What you'll need
• 4–7 years of game art experience, with at least one shipped title
• Strong hands-on experience with Unity: scene building,
prefabs, materials and the Terrain tools
• Solid Unity lighting skills in URP: lightmapping (lightmap UVs, texel density, lightmap budgets), light and reflection probes, and post-processing volumes
• Proven ability to set up cameras and capture high-quality, high-resolution screenshots from Unity
• Proficiency in at least one of Maya, Blender or 3ds Max
• Texturing skills in Substance Painter and Photoshop, with a clear grasp of PBR workflows
• Experience modeling both organic (terrain, rocks, vegetation) and hard-surface (buildings, roads, props) assets
• Experience optimizing real-time environments: LODs, occlusion culling, texture atlasing, draw calls and batching
• A strong eye for composition, color and lighting
• A portfolio that shows environments rendered inside a game engine Nice to have
• Shipped mobile games, especially driving, racing or simulation titles
• Experience building large open worlds or streaming-friendly scenes
• Vehicle modeling experience
• Working knowledge of the Unity Profiler and Frame Debugger
• ProBuilder, modular kit building, or road/spline tools in Unity
• Shader Graph or custom material work
• HDRP experience for marketing renders
• Familiarity with app store screenshot specs and aspect ratios
• A degree in Game Art, Fine Arts, Animation or a related field (strong portfolios matter more) Portfolio and
how to apply
Please send your CV and a portfolio link. Your portfolio should include:
• In-engine screenshots from Unity (not only Marmoset or Substance renders)
• At least one environment or scene breakdown showing lighting before and after
• Links to any games you've shipped, with a note on what you built We review portfolios before CVs, so show us your best work.
