About the Role
CleanTechCameroon is seeking an experienced Carbon & MRV Consultant to support the development and certification of clean cooking carbon projects in Cameroon. We are looking for a hands-on specialist with experience in Verra's Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), preferably with direct involvement in improved cookstove projects. The consultant will work with our project team to develop carbon project documentation, establish robust monitoring systems, calculate greenhouse gas emission reductions, and prepare projects for successful validation and verification.

Key Responsibilities
• Support the design and development of clean cooking carbon projects under Verra/VCS requirements.
• Apply relevant methodologies, particularly VM0050, to emissions-reduction quantification and monitoring.
• Prepare and review Project Description Documents, monitoring plans, emissions calculations, and verification documentation.
• Develop MRV procedures, including household surveys, sampling approaches, data quality assurance, and monitoring indicators.
• Assess baseline fuel consumption, cookstove adoption, usage rates, and emissions-reduction performance.
• Coordinate technical documentation and respond to queries from validation and verification bodies.
• Advise the project team on carbon certification timelines, methodological requirements, and compliance risks.



Essential Qualifications
• Proven practical experience with Verra/VCS carbon projects, ideally in clean cooking or household energy.
• Robust expertise in greenhouse gas MRV, carbon accounting, emissions calculations, and project documentation.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to work independently with project datasets.
• Strong written and spoken English. Preferred Experience
• Direct experience with VM0050, VMR0006, AMS-II.

• Experience conducting or managing cookstove field monitoring, including KPTs, CCTs, and stove-use measurements.
• Experience preparing projects for carbon validation and verification.
• Knowledge of clean cooking initiatives in Africa or other emerging markets.
• French-language skills are an advantage. Working ArrangementThis is a part-time, remote consultancy requiring regular coordination with our Cameroon-based project team.
