The Opportunity Join HSBC’s International Wealth and Personal Banking (IWPB) Global Design Team and help shape exceptional digital experiences used by millions of customers around the world. This role sets the direction for product design across journeys, products and channels balancing customer needs, business goals and technical feasibility. You’ll manage and develop a team of 10-15 designers while staying close enough to the work to guide quality and make key design contributions when needed. Working with senior partners across Product, Tech, Research and Business you’ll represent the customer voice in decision-making forums. Success means a clear design vision that scales, higher quality and accessibility across experiences and a stronger design culture that lifts delivery across the organisation. What you'll be doing




• Define a clear design vision that translates customer needs and business goals into scalable digital experiences
• Set strategic direction for product design across journeys, products and channels
• Manage, mentor and develop a team of 10-15 designers through coaching, feedback and structured development
• Build an inclusive team culture that supports high-quality outcomes and consistent ways of working
• Own end-to-end design standards to strengthen usability, consistency and accessibility across experiences
• Evolve the use of design systems to improve coherence and speed across products and channels
• Partner with senior stakeholders across Product, Tech, Research and Business to shape decisions and outcomes
• Guide design reviews, refine strategy and contribute to critical design artefacts when required What we're looking for
• Bring extensive experience managing multidisciplinary product design teams within complex organisations
• Demonstrate experience working in regulated environments such as financial services, healthcare or telecoms
• Present a portfolio showing strategic thinking and hands-on craft across UX, UI, interaction and systems with measurable impact
• Show ability to set longer-term direction while navigating day-to-day priorities, blockers and delivery pressures
• Apply strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across senior cross-functional partners




• Champion high standards for usability, consistency and accessibility across digital experiences
• Show practical experience improving and scaling design systems and user-centred design practices
