The Opportunity Data and Analytics Professionals at HSBC have responsibility for executing our HSBC Data Strategy. Their responsibilities are threefold:
• Recognising data as an asset to HSBC by managing Data Risk and ensuring we are compliant with our Data standards and policies;
• Using analytics and data science to unlock the value of our data; and
• Implementing and maintaining our Data Technologies. Data and Analytics Professionals are geographically dispersed and aligned to the Global Businesses / Global Functions or regions. What you will do: As an influential and visionary servant leader, you’ll lead and empower delivery teams to execute the Group Business and Technology Data Strategy and roadmap. You’ll provide direct and indirect leadership, fostering innovation across the organisation through agile ways of working and effective agile leadership. Leading by example, you’ll enable teams to deliver high-quality technology, data products and services that meet customer and business requirements. You’ll help create an environment where people can succeed, collaborate effectively and deliver measurable value at pace. The Head of Data Group Chief Information Office is accountable for the strategic design, implementation, governance, and ongoing management of the end-to-end enterprise data model across Group Chief Information Office. The role ensures that data is structured, governed, trusted, and managed as a strategic asset, enabling effective decision-making, operational excellence, regulatory compliance,



and technology transformation. The role leads the development and execution of the organisation's data architecture, data quality, lineage, metadata, and data management capabilities, establishing robust controls and standards across the technology estate while driving adoption and accountability throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Data Model Ownership:
• Define, own, and continuously evolve the end-to-end enterprise data model.
• Establish a strategic target-state data architecture aligned to business, technology, risk, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure consistency, standardisation, and reuse of data assets across platforms, functions, and technology domains.
• Govern data model design decisions and oversee implementation across programmes and change initiatives. Data Management and Governance:
• Drive adoption of data management best practices across all technology teams.
• Ensure alignment between data strategy, architecture standards, and delivery programmes.
• Identify, assess, and actively manage data-related risks across the technology estate.
• Establish appropriate controls to ensure integrity, accuracy, completeness, and traceability of data.
• Support regulatory, audit, and risk management requirements through effective data governance and management practices.
• Ensure remediation plans are implemented and tracked where control weaknesses are identified. What you will need to succeed in the role:
• Director-level leadership experience in Data & Analytics, preferably in Banking or Financial services
• Proven experience defining and executing an Enterprise Data Strategy,



roadmap and target operating model aligned with business, technology, risk and regulatory objectives.
• Strong expertise in Enterprise Data Management, data architecture and data modelling, including ownership of end-to-end enterprise data models and target-state architecture.
• Extensive experience in data governance, data risk and controls, including data quality, lineage, ownership, audit, regulatory requirements and remediation.
• Strong technical knowledge of SQL, Python, BigQuery and GCP (Google Cloud Platform), with experience overseeing data extraction, transformation, integration and cloud-based data platforms.
• Proven Agile Project Management and leading geographically distributed, multidisciplinary teams, influencing senior stakeholders and delivering measurable value at pace within a regulated environment.
• Experience delivering data analysis, data mining, data wrangling and data delivery, producing trusted, reusable and scalable data products for business, operational, risk and regulatory requirements.
