Job title: AVP-Retail Credit Risk Assurance
• The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Retail Credit Risk Assurance, is responsible for providing assurance over Retail Credit Risk-related risks and controls operated by the first or second line of defence across any Global Business or Function.
• This is a key testing role within Retail Credit Risk Assurance. The role holder is responsible for supporting a high-quality, well-coordinated, insightful and consistent approach to testing globally. The role contributes to the standardised global Assurance approach and ensures alignment with the bank’s Risk Management Framework (RMF). The role holder will apply subject-matter expertise to assess whether risk management activities are effective and meet industry standards, local regulatory obligations and bank policy.
• The role holder is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior and executive management within Assurance, Retail Credit Risk Stewards, Compliance and, where applicable, in-country Heads of Business. These relationships support the identification of key priorities and enable Assurance to align its activities across the three lines of defence, reducing duplication and avoiding excessive or insufficient assurance coverage. This role has no line-management responsibility. In this role, you will: Accountabilities for Business, Customers and Stakeholders
• Act as a key member of the Retail Credit Risk Assurance team, helping to ensure that standards, policies and procedures remain fit for purpose and are subject to continuous assessment.
• Provide relevant subject-matter expertise and work with the immediate team to define appropriate review scopes and deliver assurance activities.
• Inform Risk Owners, Control Owners and Risk Stewards about the design and operating effectiveness of controls within their areas of oversight and control.
• Proactively monitor and identify key emerging risks and trends at country and regional level, ensuring that the assurance programme continues to evolve in response.
• Support the delivery of assurance reviews that are accurate,



complete and consistently meet the required quality standards, demonstrating the desired outcomes for the bank and its regulators.
• Ensure that issues identified through Retail Credit Risk Assurance activities are reported and escalated consistently and promptly.
• Operate within the RMF, including alignment with risk assessment methodology and the prioritisation of risks, controls and issues.
• Work closely with Global Internal Audit (GIA) to understand review outcomes and their implications for the control environment. Customers/Stakeholders
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and adopt a cohesive approach to delivering tasks while minimising conflict.
• Develop and maintain positive, qualified relationships with key country and regional stakeholders while preserving the independence of the Assurance function.
• Support senior-level consultation on issues and emerging trends identified through Retail Credit Risk Assurance testing and reviews.
• Contribute to consistent management information (MI) concerning issues identified through Retail Credit Risk Assurance activities. Leadership & Teamwork Leadership

• Extensive knowledge of Retail Credit risks and controls, supported by experience in assurance or testing activities.
• A relevant external financial services qualification.
• A clear understanding of Retail Credit risks within the global financial services industry.
• Proven ability to provide leadership, guidance and subject-matter support, including in a role without direct line-management responsibility.
• Ability to build positive, resilient partnerships with key senior stakeholders.
• A lateral-thinking approach and the ability to interpret and resolve complex issues.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
• A strong track record of working independently and making sound decisions.
