Job Title: Associate Director,Controls and Stewardship
• WPB Risk Analytics team is organized by the core functional areas, closely aligned to the WPB business and regional priorities. Our key services are Group Retail Credit Utilities, Retail Credit Strategy, Regulatory Analytics, Model Development and Model Monitoring, Data Enrichment and Aggregation. The team works out of two base locations – Bengaluru and Kolkata.
• We provide support to various business groups and functions to drive analytics in decision making. The job responsibilities include data analysis, design, validation and calibration of credit risk models. In addition, WPB Risk Analytics also supports credit risk strategy development and implementation, monitoring and validation. This forms the basis for strategic planning by the senior management for businesses and enables effective decision making to satisfy business needs and requirements along with addressing unforeseen challenges. In this role, you will: Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• The role is structured to address business problems with analytical solutions like building predictive algorithms / forecasting / scenario simulations etc. and further providing guidance and oversight to the market to ensure credit policies and processes align with the broader risk and strategic objectives. Role holder is expected to understand business problems, translate it into analytical construct, and provide appropriate solution using domain expertise by employing available statistical / mathematical methods / functional frameworks (following the right rigor), identity and engage with relevant stakeholders including IT/Decision Systems team, CCS, Business etc. to implement and finally interpret the analytical outcomes in business context. The range of business problems may cover areas of business growth, improving customer experience, managing portfolio credit quality, limiting risk exposure, capital quantification, enhancing internal business processes, governance and oversight etc. They are required to, as necessary, embed agile & exploratory practices into their approach, justify the choice of identified appropriate methods to various internal and external reviewers. The role holder is expected to keep themselves apprised of latest developments and industry practices around emerging methodologies, techniques etc.

• Devise measures to converse both in technical and business language across the stakeholder matrix in the Group and regions.
• Lead the functional analytics practice by implementing high quality analytical solutions for the business stakeholders across all the regions.
• Design, architect, and manage analytics processes and infrastructure and discuss and define initiatives of such processes with senior management.
• Extend strategic support towards innovative analytical thinking & solutions that results into improved business performance.
• Take measures to act as an interface with the business to increase awareness on how to leverage advanced analytics tools and techniques by business communities.
• Execute appropriate changes by partnering with Global / Regional leaders and establish analytics driven business model.
• Standardize analytical methodologies and formulate an iterative/ agile environment.
• Identify and implement market / industry best practices and bring-in best-in-class and relevant solutions for better business decisions Leadership & Teamwork
• Develop and maintain relationships and work well with all levels of management.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree from reputed University with concentration on marketing, finance, economics, or other quantitative field such as statistics or engineering.
• Strong analytical skills with 15+ years of proven analytics experience with majority of the prior experience preferred in Credit Risk Analytics functions.
• Very Good knowledge of Model Development and management concepts, Strategy, Impairment and Data management functions.
• Good/practical understanding on Advanced Analytics and Machine Learning
• Ability to convince senior management of analysis being presented.
• Ability to comprehend intricate and diverse range of business problems and analyze them with limited or complex data and provide a feasible solution framework.
• Ability to influence and negotiate across all levels for mutually positive outcome.
• Good knowledge at least one programming language
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop and effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas.
• Should have led medium size analytics team for at least 10+ years.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal skills and drive for success Hsbc.
