Role - The Certification Analyst manages payment-terminal and host-certification activities from scope assessment and environment readiness through test execution, defect resolution, evidence submission, and certification approval. The role covers Postilion, RCS, acquirer integrations, ISO 8583 transaction flows, EMV Level 3 testing and payment-network mandates. The analyst will work with customers, acquirers, payment schemes, terminal vendors, engineering teams, and program stakeholders to complete certifications accurately and on schedule.

Key responsibilities:-

1. Certification planning

- Review certification requirements, scheme mandates, and transaction specifications.
- Analyse terminal, host, acquirer, and network interfaces.
- Understand ISO 8583 message formats and end-to-end transaction flows.
- Define test scope, certification approach, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
- Prepare certification plans, execution schedules, and readiness checklists.
- Identify required terminals, test cards, simulators, keys, profiles, portals, and certification slots.

2. Environment readiness

- Configure and coordinate certification environments for Postilion, RCS, terminals, and host systems.
- Validate connectivity among terminals, hosts, acquirers, and payment networks.
- Confirm availability of stable software builds, firmware, kernels, SDKs, and test data.
- Perform environment smoke testing before formal execution.
- Coordinate access, credentials, and environment-related dependencies with relevant teams.

3. Test execution and analysis

- Execute pre-certification, EMV L3, host, mandate, and scheme-specific test cases.
- Test contact, contactless, eCommerce, retail, unattended, convenience-store and fuel-payment scenarios where applicable.
- Validate online and offline transaction flows.
- Review application, terminal, host and network logs.
- Analyse ISO 8583 messages, response codes, data elements, and transaction behaviour.
- Compare actual results against scheme, acquirer and solution requirements.




- Maintain accurate execution records and test evidence.

4. Defect and retest management

- Log clear, reproducible defects with relevant evidence.
- Perform initial root-cause analysis using logs and transaction messages.
- Coordinate defect triage with development, product, terminal and integration teams.
- Track defects, risks and dependencies through closure.
- Retest fixes and execute relevant regression scenarios.
- Escalate issues that may affect certification windows or approval dates.

5. Evidence and approval management

- Compile test results, logs, screenshots and other required evidence.
- Review evidence for completeness, accuracy and traceability.
- Prepare certification reports and submission packages.
- Respond to scheme, acquirer or customer clarification requests.
- Support final approval and Letter of Approval activities.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and reusable certification assets.

6. Stakeholder coordination

- Coordinate with customers, acquirers, schemes, terminal vendors and internal teams.
- Participate in readiness reviews, defect calls and status meetings.
- Communicate progress, blockers, decisions and next steps clearly.
- Maintain status reports, RAID logs and execution trackers.
- Support certification activities during scheduled scheme or acquirer windows.
- Provide appropriate overlap with Pune or US teams based on assignment needs.

Required technical skills

- Payment-terminal and host-certification experience.
- Understanding of EMV Level 3 and payment-network certification processes.
- Knowledge of ISO 8583 messages, transaction flows and response codes.
- Experience analysing terminal, application, host and network logs.
- Familiarity with acquirer,



issuer and payment-scheme integrations.
- Defect management, regression testing and evidence preparation.
- Experience with test simulators, portals, test cards and certification tools.
- Knowledge of Postilion and RCS is strongly preferred.
- Understanding of Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover or other network requirements is desirable.

Education and experience

- Bachelors degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
- Relevant experience in payment systems, certification, testing, or integration.
