Job Overview

The Network Engineer L2 serves as an escalation point for complex network issues and supports the maintenance, configuration, and security of enterprise network infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional IT teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as an escalation point for network issues unresolved by L1 support, including routers, switches, firewalls, LAN/WAN, VPN, remote access, and wireless networks.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting using network logs and packet capture analysis.
- Monitor network performance, perform routine configuration changes, firmware/software updates, and maintain network documentation and diagrams.
- Assist in deploying and configuring network devices, including VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), ACLs, NAT, QoS, and port forwarding.
- Participate in network upgrades, migrations, audits, and performance tuning activities.
- Maintain accurate records of configurations, incidents, resolutions, SOPs, and change reports.
- Implement and monitor basic security controls and respond to network-related security alerts.
- Collaborate with L1, L3, server,



and security teams, escalate issues to vendors when required, and support on-call or after-hours maintenance.

Skills Tools

- Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco or Juniper networking equipment.
- Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG.
- Proficiency in CLI-based troubleshooting and familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ticketing tools.
- Basic scripting knowledge is a plus.
