Role & responsibilities

- Develop and optimize CNC machining programs using CAM software based on 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Generate and modify toolpaths for 3-axis, 4-axis and/or 5-axis machining, as required.
- Prepare CNC programs for VMC/HMC and other CNC machining centres.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, machining strategies, feeds and speeds.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, tolerances and 3D CAD models.
- Perform toolpath simulation, verification and collision checking before production.
- Optimize programs to reduce machining time, tool wear and material wastage.
- Support CNC setters/operators during first-off component development and prove-out.
- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues and make necessary program modifications.




- Develop and maintain standardized CNC programming methods and documentation.
- Work closely with Production, Tool Room, Quality and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
- Ensure programs meet required quality, dimensional accuracy and productivity standards.
- Review and improve existing CNC programs for cycle-time and process optimization.

Required Technical Skills

- Robust hands-on experience in CAM programming.
- Proficiency in Mastercam / NX CAM
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes and tooling.
- Good understanding of G-code and M-code.

Knowledge of 3-axis / 4-axis / 5-axis machining will be an added advantage.
