SAP BTP Developer

Position Title: SAP BTP CAPM & SAPUI5 Developer
Role Level: Senior / Technical Lead
Location: Hybrid (Mumbai and Bengaluru)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAP BTP Developer to design, build, enhance, and support robust enterprise applications on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). The ideal candidate will possess deep hands-on expertise in SAP CAP, SAPUI5 / Fiori, and SAP HANA Cloud. You will be responsible for end-to-end full-stack development, including core database objects, custom backend services, interactive user interfaces, and seamless API integrations.

Key Responsibilities

- Full-Stack Application Development: Design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade full-stack applications using SAP CAP (Node.js framework) and SAPUI5 / Fiori.
- Data Modeling & Services: Construct and manage Core Data Services (CDS) models, definition layers, and expose scalable OData services (v2/v4).
- Custom Business Logic: Implement custom CAP handlers, event-driven processes, actions, functions, and server-side business logic.
- Database & Calculation Engineering: Develop and optimize SAP HANA Cloud database artifacts using SQL and SQLScript, including HDB Functions, Stored Procedures, Graphical/Scripted Views, and Calculation Views.
- System Integration: Integrate applications across SAP and non-SAP landscapes utilizing REST/OData APIs, Destination Services, and Cloud Connector connectivity.
- Automation & Job Scheduling: Design background job execution frameworks, automated processing scripts, and scheduler-driven integrations.
- Quality & Lifecycle Management: Participate actively in architecture design reviews, unit/integration testing, performance tuning, code optimization, version control, and CI/CD deployment pipelines using SAP Business Application Studio (BAS)



and Git.
- Production Support & Governance: Troubleshoot complex technical issues, resolve application bugs, tune query performance, and provide L3 production support.

2. Cloud Application Programming Model (CAPM)

- SAP CAP with Node.js runtime
- CDS (Core Data Services) Modeling
- OData Protocol Implementation (v2/v4)
- Custom Actions, Functions, and Event Handlers

3. SAPUI5 / Fiori Development

- SAPUI5 / Fiori Application Architecture (MVC Pattern)
- View Routing, Navigation, and Component Architecture
- Modular UI design using Fragments and Custom Controls
- Data Binding and OData Integration

4. SAP HANA Cloud

- Advanced SQL and SQLScript Programming
- Creation and tuning of HDB Functions, Procedures, and Views
- Database Performance Optimization & Query Tuning

5. Tools & Methodology

- Version Control: Git / GitHub / GitLab
- API Testing: Postman / Insomnia
- Project Management: Jira / Azure DevOps

Preferred / Valuable to Have

- Prior experience with SAP IBP (Integrated Business Planning) integration workflows.
- Working knowledge of SAP Integration Suite / Cloud Platform Integration (CPI).
- Experience with specialized SAP BTP background processing and queuing frameworks.
- Proven track record in memory and execution tuning on SAP HANA Cloud.
- Relevant SAP BTP / SAP HANA Cloud Certifications.
