About the Role
We are building a modular, end-to-end air cargo platform that covers the airline cargo offer, order and operations. As Senior Technical Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of this platform across a complex landscape of new and legacy products, multiple technology and product teams.
You will be the connective tissue between technology, product, sales and business development, and the Delivery GPMs who own customer implementations and migrations from the legacy product to the new platform as well as green field. Your job is to keep a multi-team, multi-product program aligned, predictable, and moving.
Role & responsibilities:
Platform program delivery
- Own end-to-end delivery planning for the modular platform, including roadmap, milestones, dependencies, release plans, and budget tracking
- Manage cross-module and cross-product dependencies, integration points, and shared services
- Drive release readiness, go-live planning, cutover and rollback strategy, and hypercare
Technology and product alignment
- Work with engineering leads, architects, and QA across both new-platform and legacy-product teams
- Partner with product managers for new and existing products to align roadmap priorities, scope, and release sequencing
- Balance investment between building new capabilities, and delivering migration tooling
- Surface technical risks early (data quality, performance, integration complexity, regulatory and security constraints) and drive mitigation plans
Migration, transition, and customer implementation
- Work closely with Delivery PMs to plan and de-risk legacy-to-new-platform migrations and brand-new customer implementations
- Define repeatable implementation and migration playbooks, templates, and readiness criteria
- Coordinate platform capacity, environments, and engineering support against the implementation pipeline
- Manage the feedback loop from implementations back into product and engineering backlogs
- Support data migration, parallel-run, and cutover planning with customers and internal teams
Commercial and stakeholder collaboration
- Work with sales and business development on solution feasibility, delivery timelines,
and commitments before and during deal cycles
- Translate customer commitments into delivery plans and flag capacity or scope conflicts early
- Provide clear, regular reporting to executives on progress, risks, dependencies, and forecasts
- Facilitate prioritization and trade-off decisions between competing demands from product, customers, and engineering
Agile governance and process
- Partner with Scrum Masters across teams to align sprint cadences, program increments, and cross-team planning
- Maintain RAID logs, program dashboards, and delivery metrics (predictability, cycle time, defect trends, migration progress)
- Establish and improve program governance, escalation paths, and ways of working across distributed teams
- Ensure documentation and change management practices meet customer, security, and regulatory expectations
Customer enablement and readiness
- Lead the planning and readiness of customer enablement programs that prepare airline customers to adopt the platform successfully.
- Work with Delivery GPMs, product, and customer success teams to define training curricula, user documentation, sandbox and test environments, and onboarding materials for each module.
- Establish clear enablement readiness criteria (such as trained user groups, completed user acceptance testing, operational procedures, and support handover) that must be met before go-live, and track them as formal gates in the implementation and migration plans.
- Ensure enablement content stays aligned with product releases, and feed customer adoption feedback and training gaps back into the product and engineering backlogs.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years in technical project or program management, with at least 3 years leading multi-team platform or enterprise software delivery
- Proven experience delivering complex programs that involve both legacy and new products, including migration or modernization
- Strong technical grounding in software architecture, APIs, integrations, microservices, cloud platforms, and data migration
- Experience of working with customer implementation or professional services teams
- Hands-on experience with Agile at scale SAFe and hybrid delivery models
- Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to influence senior leaders across technology, product, and commercial functions
- Strong skills in risk management, dependency management, and executive communication
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and portfolio or roadmap tools
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Key Competencies
- Systems thinking across technology, product, and operations
- Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities in a transformation program
- Strong negotiation skills when balancing customer commitments against engineering capacity
- Credibility with engineers and senior executives alike
- Structured, data-driven approach to planning and reporting
Success Measures
- Modules and releases delivered on schedule and to agreed quality
- Migrations and new implementations executed predictably, with fewer surprises at cutover
- Reusable implementation and migration playbooks adopted by Delivery GPMs
- Explicit alignment between sales commitments, product roadmap, and engineering capacity
- High stakeholder confidence and transparent, timely reporting
Preferred candidate profile
- Experience in air cargo, airline, logistics, or aviation technology (e.g., cargo reservations, revenue management, ground handling, load control, cargo accounting, IATA standards such as Cargo-XML and e-AWB)
- Experience with SaaS platform implementations for airlines or large enterprise customers
- Familiarity with multi-tenant and modular platform architectures
- Experience managing delivery across global, distributed teams and time zones
- PMP, PgMP, SAFe Program Consultant, or similar certification
- Exposure to presales or solution-scoping activities
