Job Title: Assistant Manager (Network & Firewall)

Location: Chennai

Working Days: 6 days (Mon-Sat) (24*7 support needed)

Role Summary

The Assistant Manager Network & Firewall is responsible for managing, securing, and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure and firewall systems. This role ensures high availability, robust security, and compliance, while supporting business operations and leading a small technical team.

Key Responsibilities

- Network Operations
- Monitor and manage LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
- Ensure network uptime, performance, and scalability.
- Oversee routine maintenance, upgrades, and capacity planning.

- Firewall & Security Management

- Configure, monitor, and maintain firewall policies and rules.
- Implement intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
- Apply patches and updates to firewall and network devices.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and remediate findings.

- Incident & Change Management

- Respond to and resolve network and firewall-related incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues.
- Manage change requests and ensure successful implementation.

- Compliance & Audit





- Ensure adherence to IT security policies and regulatory standards.
- Prepare documentation for internal/external audits.
- Maintain logs and reports for firewall and network activities.

- Leadership & Collaboration
- Supervise and mentor junior network/security engineers.
- Collaborate with IT, cloud, and cybersecurity teams.
- Manage vendor relationships for hardware/software solutions.

Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 58 years of experience in network and firewall administration.
- Hands-on expertise with Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, or equivalent technologies.
- Robust knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, and security protocols.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, GDPR, PCI-DSS).
