Business Development Manager - International Freight Forwarding - Cross-Border Logistics- Ocean & Air Freight - 10+ Years - Gurgaon

We are hiring a Business Development Manager International Freight Forwarding to build and grow India- and China-origin import, export and cross-trade business, with strong hands-on experience in Ocean Freight being mandatory.

The role is ideal for an experienced freight-forwarding sales professional with established shipper/agent networks and expertise in business development, rate negotiation and margin management across key global trade lanes.

Location: Gurgaon (WFO)

Responsibilities:

1. Build and grow profitable export, import and cross-trade business across priority trade lanes including India-China, China-India, Middle East, US and Canada.
2. Identify and acquire shippers, exporters, importers, overseas agents and referral partners through direct market development.
3. Negotiate contract rates, buy/sell rates, FOB-origin and local charges across ocean and air freight while ensuring healthy lane-wise margins.
4. Develop and strengthen relationships with agents, carriers, co-loaders and forwarding networks, converting opportunities into recurring freight volumes.
5. Manage the sales-to-operations workflow, resolve commercial and service escalations, and track pipeline, quotations, bookings, revenue, GP, conversion and lane performance.

Requirements:

1. 10-15 years of experience in international freight forwarding/cross-border logistics, including 7+ years in business development.
2. Mandatory: Strong hands-on Ocean Freight experience, along with good knowledge of air freight, import/export and cross-trade business.
3. Proven exposure to India-China, China-India, Middle East, US and Canada trade lanes.
4. Robust existing network of shippers, exporters, importers,



overseas agents, carriers, co-loaders and forwarding networks; WCA exposure preferred.
5. Strong commercial and negotiation skills with expertise in buy/sell pricing, rate negotiation, margin management and India export documentation, along with the ability to work independently.
