Job Summary

- Develop and maintain software components using C++, Qt, and QML for core modules, user interfaces, and device interfaces.
- Translate clinical, regulatory, and product requirements into scalable and maintainable software implementations.
- Implement established design patterns, componentization, interfaces, and data models.
- Participate in software design and technical reviews and contribute to architectural decisions and trade-offs.
- Ensure software implementation is traceable to requirements and supports risk management and safety-related design activities.
- Develop software in compliance with medical device regulations and software lifecycle processes, including ISO 13485, IEC 60601-1, and MDR/IVDR as applicable.
- Consider safety, reliability, performance, cybersecurity, and fail-safe behavior during software development.
- Develop and integrate software components for hardware-software integration, drivers, middleware, real-time constraints, and platform portability.
- Perform code reviews and ensure effective code quality, testing, and software design documentation.
- Collaborate with UX/UI, QA, regulatory, hardware, and clinical teams to align software implementation with user needs and validation plans.
- Develop and maintain software design artifacts, component documentation, interface specifications, NFRs, and API specifications.
- Identify and communicate technical risks and contribute to mitigation plans, reuse strategies, and platformization where feasible.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in C++ with strong object-oriented and design-pattern skills.
- Experience developing software using Qt (Widgets or QML) for complex, user-centric desktop or embedded UI.
- Strong understanding of cross-platform development, performance optimization, memory management, and real-time considerations.




- Familiarity with hardware/firmware integration, device drivers, and IPC mechanisms.
- Solid knowledge of the software development lifecycle in regulated environments, including requirements, design, implementation, verification, validation, and change control.
- Experience with risk management processes (ISO 14971) and software safety concepts.
- Solid communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across disciplines.

Nice-to-Haves

- Experience with embedded Linux, real-time OS, or bare-metal environments.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and secure-by-design practices for medical devices.
- Experience with formal methods or model-based design, including UML, SysML, or architecture frameworks.
- Fluency in additional languages used in healthcare, such as German or French, or knowledge of global regulatory requirements.
- Prior experience in a compliance/audit context and successful regulatory submissions.

Technical Skills

- C++ (C++11/14/17/20), modern idioms, templates, RAII, STL, move semantics.
- Qt framework: Widgets, signals/slots, QML, model-view patterns, MVC/MVVM.
- Software architecture styles: layered, component-based, event-driven, service-oriented.
- APIs, SDKs, middleware, and hardware abstraction layers.
- Software design and modeling using UML/SysML and architecture documentation.
- Version control, CI/CD, test automation, and code quality tooling.
- Knowledge of standards: IEC 62304, ISO 62366, ISO 14971, ISO 13485.

- Ensure software design and development documentation supports regulatory submissions and audits.
- Maintain requirements traceability and provide evidence for verification and validation.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, safety, and quality teams to meet regulatory expectations.
- Ensure software development activities follow defined quality and software lifecycle processes.
- Support identification and mitigation of software-related risks.
- Ensure software implementation meets defined safety, reliability, performance, and quality requirements.
