Role & responsibilities

- Handle Direct Purchase / Direct Procurement of automotive components and materials.
- Identify, evaluate and develop suppliers for direct material requirements.
- Manage sourcing activities, RFQs, quotation evaluation and commercial negotiations.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, quality and delivery with suppliers.
- Develop new suppliers and support supplier localization / alternate sourcing initiatives.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Production, Planning and Supply Chain teams for material requirements.
- Support NPD / New Product Development sourcing and new component development.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules and material availability.
- Drive cost reduction through cost analysis, benchmarking and supplier negotiations.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to support production and project requirements.
- Manage purchase orders and follow up with suppliers for on-time delivery.

Preferred candidate profile





- 1016 years of experience in Direct Purchase / Direct Procurement and Sourcing, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Candidates from Automotive OEM / Vehicle Manufacturing companies are preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience in supplier sourcing, RFQ management, quotation evaluation and commercial negotiation.
- Experience in supplier development, vendor development and supplier localization.
- Good exposure to direct material / automotive component procurement.
- Experience in NPD / Current Product Development sourcing will be preferred.
- Strong understanding of cost analysis, cost negotiation and supplier performance management.
- Candidates from reputed Automotive Tier-1 / Auto Component companies with strong direct purchase experience may also be considered.
- Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills with Engineering, Quality, Production and Supply Chain teams.
