Role Description: The Training and Placement Head is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, responsible for leading all training and placement initiatives for students. This role oversees the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of training programs that enhance students’ employability, including soft skills, technical skills, and job-readiness workshops.

The Training and Placement Head will build and maintain relationships with corporate partners, coordinate campus recruitment activities, and track placement outcomes to meet institutional targets. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with academic teams to align training with industry requirements, mentoring students on career pathways, and managing a team to execute training schedules and placement drives. The role also involves monitoring industry trends, representing Birkbeck Bengaluru at external events, and ensuring high standards of student service and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact effectively with students, employers,



and internal stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess expertise in Training & Development and Training to plan, deliver, and evaluate job-readiness and employability programs.
- Candidates should possess capabilities in Instructional Design to create structured, outcome-focused learning content and sessions.
- Relevant experience in campus placements, corporate relations, or career services, preferably within higher education or training organisations.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple initiatives, and meet placement and performance targets.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; a postgraduate qualification in Management, Education, Human Resources, or a related field is an advantage.
- Robust analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to use data to improve training effectiveness and placement outcomes.
- Comfort working in a diverse, multicultural environment and supporting learners from varied academic and cultural backgrounds.
