Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Steam Turbine Operator role based in Phagwara.

The Steam Turbine

Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and adjusting steam turbines and associated equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous power generation. Typical tasks include starting and shutting down turbines, observing gauges and control panels, recording operating data, and responding to alarms or abnormal conditions. The role involves routine inspection of boilers, condensers, pumps, and valves, coordinating with maintenance teams to report faults, and assisting in minor troubleshooting.

The operator also follows strict safety procedures,



adheres to environmental and regulatory standards, and collaborates with supervisors and colleagues to maintain optimal plant performance.

Qualifications

- Experience in operating steam turbines, boilers, and auxiliary equipment in an industrial or power generation environment.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical systems, including pumps, valves, piping, and control instrumentation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, log sheets, and safety documentation.
- Familiarity with plant safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and emergency response protocols.
- Minimum vocational or technical qualification in mechanical, electrical, or power plant engineering; a diploma or degree in a related field is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by plant operations.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
