Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Sheet Metal Consultant located in Coimbatore.

The Sheet Metal

Consultant will review and interpret design drawings, provide fabrication recommendations, and optimize sheet metal layouts for machinery and material handling equipment. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with design and production teams, guiding selection of sheet metal grades and thicknesses, and advising on bending, cutting, welding, and finishing processes. The role involves inspecting prototypes and finished components, identifying cost and weight optimization opportunities, and ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and industry standards.



The consultant will also support troubleshooting of fabrication issues and contribute to continuous improvement of manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong sheet metal design and fabrication skills, including experience with cutting, bending, welding, and forming processes.
- Candidates should possess skills in reading technical drawings and using mechanical CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for layout and detailing.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of materials and manufacturing, including sheet metal grades, surface treatments, and fabrication methods relevant to industrial machinery.
- Candidates should possess skills in quality control and safety, such as dimensional inspection, tolerance checks, and adherence to workplace safety practices.
- Candidates should possess communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with design, production, and client teams, and to document recommendations clearly.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with prior experience in fabrication shops or machinery manufacturing.
- Experience in bulk solids handling equipment, conveyors, or related industrial machinery will be considered an added advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Coimbatore, manage multiple projects, and adapt to evolving client requirements is required.
