- Key Technical Responsibilities
Linux Kernel &
- Platform Enablement
Perform Linux kernel migrations across Intel and AMD x86 architectures.
Debug kernel issues involving memory management, interrupts, PCIe, DMA, and device drivers.
Support hardware initialization, platform bring-up, and kernel compatibility.
Intel IPU/ITU Driver &
- Microcode Integration
Integrate Intel IPU/ITU hardware acceleration into the Linux platform stack.
Work with device drivers such as idpf, ice, and irdma, where applicable.
Support driver initialization, firmware/microcode updates, and hardware interface debugging.
Yocto &
- OS/SDK Tag Migrations
Manage OS/SDK version migrations across Yocto recipes, Linux kernel subsystems, and Cisco IOS-XE/Polaris layers.
Update BitBake recipes, custom Yocto layers, and build dependencies.
Resolve build failures and compatibility issues across kernel, SDK, and software releases.
CI/CD &
- Regression Automation
Build automated pre-merge sanity pipelines using Python and Shell scripting.
Automate software build verification, platform boot checks, driver validation, and regression tests.
Integrate automated testing with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
Hardware, ASIC &
- Firmware Collaboration
Work with hardware, ASIC, firmware, and platform software teams during integration and board bring-up.
Troubleshoot hardware-software interface issues and validate software changes before release.
- Mandatory Technical Skills
Linux Kernel: Kernel internals, kernel modules, device drivers, memory management, and debugging. Yocto / BitBake: Embedded Linux builds, recipe management, layer customization, and migration.
x86 Architecture: Intel/AMD x86_64 platforms and low-level hardware integration.
Device Driver Interfaces: PCIe, DMA, interrupt handling, and hardware communication.
Automation: Python, Shell/Bash scripting, CI/CD, and automated regression testing.
