Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer (3D Modeling) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in machine design, SPMs, industrial automation, or customized engineering solutions.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in SolidWorks 3D modelling and 2D drawings, large assemblies, design validation, basic mechanical calculations, and mechanical component selection.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform design detailing and modifications on existing equipment models based on current project requirements.
- Reuse proven designs and develop recent designs from scratch wherever required.
- Understand and follow the company's established SolidWorks modelling standards and design methodologies.
- Work efficiently with large and complex assemblies while maintaining error-free assemblies and references.
- Maintain an organized SolidWorks file and folder structure to minimize reference and file-management errors.
- Perform design validation and verification based on project requirements.
- Perform basic mechanical design calculations, including force, torque, friction, beams, bolts, and related calculations for component selection.




- Apply basic principles of mechanics and physics to support mechanical design decisions.
- Study product catalogues, technical manuals, and datasheets to identify application-specific information required for component selection.
- Maintain a well-organized database/folder structure for datasheets and technical documents of selected bought-out components.
- Coordinate and communicate with suppliers to identify and select suitable mechanical components for specific applications.
- Ensure designs meet functional, manufacturing, assembly, and project requirements.

Required Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modelling and 2D drawings.
- Strong knowledge of:
- SolidWorks Configurations
- Weldments and Weldment Cut Lists
- Multi-Body Part Modelling
- Large Assemblies
- Hole Wizard
- Feature Patterns
- Component Patterns
- Strong understanding of different SolidWorks modelling methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with SolidWorks PDM.
- Good understanding of mechanical design principles and basic engineering calculations.
- Ability to interpret technical catalogues, manuals, datasheets, and engineering specifications.
- Good knowledge of mechanical component selection based on application requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and design-validation skills.
- Valuable communication skills for coordination with suppliers and internal engineering teams.

Qualification B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in:
- Machine Design




- Special Purpose Machines (SPMs)
- Industrial Automation
- Customized Machinery
- Manufacturing Equipment
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with SolidWorks preferred.
