The Role

One of our enterprise customers is standardizing its automation estate on SAP Build Process Automation. They currently run a portfolio of production bots on Automation Anywhere bots that our team supports today and knows well.

There is no direct, tool-to-tool conversion path from Automation Anywhere to SAP Build. Every automation has to be understood at the process level and rebuilt natively on SAP Build using the right mix of workflows, business rules, forms, and RPA agents.

We are hiring a developer who can do both halves of that work: assess the existing bots and produce credible migration estimates and timelines, then build the replacement automations on SAP Build. You will work alongside the existing support team, who can walk you through the current bots and the business processes behind them.

What You'll Do

Assessment and estimation

Review existing Automation Anywhere bots and supporting documentation to understand what each automation actually does — systems touched, triggers, business rules, exception paths, and data dependencies.

Work with our support team and the customer's process owners to separate what the bot does from what the business process requires, so the rebuild targets the process rather than replicating bot-specific workarounds.

Assess each automation for SAP Build fit and complexity, and identify where a workflow, a business rule, a form, an API call, or an RPA agent is the right construct.

Produce effort estimates, migration sequencing recommendations, and realistic timelines at both the individual-automation and portfolio level,



with assumptions and risks stated clearly.

Flag automations that should be redesigned, consolidated, or retired rather than migrated as-is.

Design and build

Build and unit-test automations in SAP Build Process Automation — process workflows, decisions and business rules, forms, approvals, and attended/unattended RPA agents.

Integrate with SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP services, and non-SAP applications via OData, RESTAPIs, destinations, and connectors.

Configure environments, agents, destinations, and transports across development, QA, and production.

Implement error handling, logging, retry logic, and process visibility so automations are supportable in production.

Support UAT, deployment, hypercare, and knowledge transfer to the support team.

Documentation and collaboration

Maintain process design documents, solution design documents, test scripts, and runbooks.

Report progress, risks, and dependencies to the OnTrac delivery lead and participate in customer-facing working sessions as needed.

Contribute to reusable patterns and standards that speed up subsequent migrations.

What You Need

4+ years in RPA, process automation, or SAP application development,



including 2+ years hands-on with SAP Build Process Automation (or SAP Intelligent RPA with demonstrated transition to SAP Build).

Proven delivery of SAP Build automations in production — not just training exercises or proofs of concept.

Working knowledge of SAP BTP: cockpit, subaccounts, destinations, connectivity, authorizations, and the Cloud Connector.

Practical experience integrating with SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC, and comfort working with OData services, RESTAPIs, and SAP Fiori applications.

Ability to read and interpret Automation Anywhere bots (A360 or v11) well enough to reverse-engineer process logic. Deep Automation Anywhere development experience is a plus but not required.

Demonstrated ability to estimate effort and build timelines for automation work, and to defend those estimates with explicit reasoning.

Scripting proficiency in JavaScript; comfort with JSON and data transformation.

Strong written and spoken English, and the confidence to ask business users the right questions about a process.

Ability to work with meaningful overlap with US business hours for design sessions and stand-ups.

Nice to Have

SAP Certified Associate — SAP Build Process Automation.

Experience migrating automations between platforms (any direction).

SAP Build Apps, SAP Build Work Zone, or SAP Integration Suite exposure.

Intelligent document processing experience (SAP Document Information Extraction or comparable).

ABAP reading ability for tracing logic in custom SAP objects.

Background in a consulting or client-services environment.
