: QC Engineer – In-Process (Sheet Metal & Assembly

Position Overview

We are seeking an alert and technically strong QC Engineer (In-Process) to manage shop-floor quality controls, process audits, and workforce training. This role focuses heavily on line patrolling, real-time inspection, and defect minimization. The selected candidate will ensure zero-defect manufacturing for high-precision components like Railways parts, Defence ammunition boxes, and Lithium battery boxes.

Employment Details

- Job Position: QC Engineer – In-Process (Sheet Metal ASSY & Fabrication)
- Experience Required: 2 to 5 Years
- Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Salary Range: ₹20,000 – ₹25,000 per month
- Industry Focus: Sheet Metal / Heavy Fabrication / Box Manufacturing

Core Responsibilities 1. In-Process Inspection & Floor Monitoring

- Hourly Patrolling: Conduct regular, structured floor patrolling to detect and stop line defects early.
- Online Inspection: Perform real-time quality checks directly on the production lines during active runs.
- PDI Inspection: Manage Pre-Dispatch Inspections (PDI) to guarantee only flawless products reach the customer.
- Rejection & Rework: Monitor, log, and analyze rejection rates. Drive corrective actions to reduce rework costs.
- Audits: Execute rigorous Process Audits and Product Audits to maintain total floor compliance.

2. Process Controls & Core Quality Documentation

- Defect Control: Root-cause issues and execute Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).




- System Documents: Create and update Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), PFMEA, and Control Plans.
- Approvals: Authorize key manufacturing milestones, including First Off Approval (FOA), MOA, and LOA.
- Standards: Draft current inspection standards, update Work Instructions (WI), and track vendor RM (Raw Material) Test Certificates.

3. Technical Testing & Shop Floor Competency

- Weld Testing: Perform physical tests on welded parts, including Nugget, Coupon, and Chisel tests.
- Coating Quality: Perform Peel-off tests to confirm powder coating adhesion and finish.
- Machinery Audit: Check parts coming off Laser Cutting, CNC Bending, and Stamping presses.
- Welding Standards: Maintain strict quality standards for Spot, MIG, TIG, and Laser welding.
- Blueprints & Jigs: Read and interpret 2D engineering drawings. Inspect tools, dies, and assembly jig fixtures.
- ISO 9001: Apply working knowledge

4. Workforce Training & Administration

- Manpower Upskilling: Train un-skilled laborers into semi-skilled and skilled quality-aware personnel.
- Manpower Allotment: Help optimize and allocate existing shop floor workers across manufacturing zones.
- Digital Tools: Use MS Excel for daily quality logs, PowerPoint for reports, and manage professional emails.
- Communication: Coordinate across production and management teams using strong verbal and written skills.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
