Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Engineer/Sr. Engineer – Maintenance (Purchase) to manage the procurement of indirect materials, maintenance spares, consumables, repair services, and CAPEX requirements. The ideal candidate should have 4–5 years of experience in indirect purchasing within a manufacturing environment and possess strong vendor management and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle procurement of indirect materials, including maintenance spares, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) items, consumables, tools, safety items, and general engineering supplies.
- Manage sourcing and procurement for repair services, annual maintenance contracts (AMCs), and facility-related requirements.
- Execute CAPEX procurement activities, including obtaining quotations, techno-commercial evaluations, negotiations, and purchase order release.
- Develop and maintain a reliable vendor base for maintenance and indirect procurement requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms to achieve cost optimization.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, Finance, and Stores teams to ensure timely availability of materials and services.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality, delivery,



and contractual commitments.
- Maintain procurement records, MIS reports, and documentation in ERP systems.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and supplier development.
- Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and statutory compliance.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of indirect procurement, MRO purchasing, maintenance spares, consumables, repair services, and CAPEX procurement.
- Experience in vendor development, supplier evaluation, and commercial negotiations.
- Understanding of maintenance operations and engineering materials.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent) and MS Excel.
- Positive analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
- Certification in Supply Chain or Procurement will be an added advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- 4–5 years of experience in indirect purchasing within a manufacturing or engineering organization.
- Hands-on experience in procurement of maintenance consumables, MRO items, repair services, and CAPEX equipment.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and cost optimization skills.
- Experience working with ERP-based procurement processes.
