Role Objective To ensure protected, efficient, and uninterrupted plant operations during the assigned shift by supervising manpower, monitoring chemical processes, maintaining product quality, and ensuring strict compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Shift Operations

- Supervise and manage day-to-day chemical plant operations during the assigned shift.
- Ensure smooth functioning of production equipment and process systems.
- Monitor process parameters, including temperature, pressure, flow, and other critical operating conditions.
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per the production plan.

2. Manpower Management

- Allocate duties to shift operators and technicians.
- Monitor employee attendance, discipline, and work performance.
- Ensure proper shift handover and communication of operational issues to the incoming shift team.

3. Process Monitoring and Troubleshooting

- Identify and resolve process-related issues and operational abnormalities.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for equipment breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
- Minimize production downtime and ensure efficient utilization of plant resources.

4. Safety and Compliance

- Ensure strict adherence to plant safety procedures, PPE requirements, and permit-to-work systems.
- Follow chemical handling, storage, and emergency response procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable factory, environmental, and statutory safety requirements.
- Report incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and process deviations promptly.

5. Quality and Production Control

- Ensure production activities comply with established quality standards and operating procedures.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) team for sampling, testing, and process approvals.
- Maintain process discipline and reduce material wastage.

6. Documentation and Reporting

- Maintain shift production reports, equipment operating logs, and process records.
- Record breakdowns, deviations, incidents, and corrective actions.




- Prepare shift-wise production and manpower reports for management.
- Ensure accurate documentation and proper handover to the next shift.

7. Coordination and Continuous Improvement

- Coordinate with production, maintenance, quality, utility, and EHS teams.
- Support plant start-up, shutdown, and emergency operations as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, safety, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in the chemical industry, preferably in a chemical manufacturing plant.
- Experience in shift operations, production supervision, or chemical process handling is preferred.
- Knowledge of chemical process equipment, operating procedures, and industrial safety practices.

Skills Required
- Good understanding of chemical plant operations and process parameters.
- Strong leadership and shift manpower management skills.
- Ability to identify process abnormalities and take corrective action.
- Knowledge of chemical handling, emergency response, and industrial safety.
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prepare production reports and maintain shift documentation.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts.

Employment Details

- CTC Range: ₹20,000 – ₹35,000 per month (Or as per Experience)
