About Lucent Drive

At Lucent Drive, we develop energy solutions for power generation, including our own wind turbine technology. We are looking for an innovative, creative student to join the team and help take our turbines from CAD model to working machine in the field.

The role

You will work across the full product development cycle, from the design office to the installation site. You will design, build and test, and see your work turn in the wind.

Responsibilities

- Design turbine components in CAD: bearings, housings and full assemblies
- Prepare assembly models and drawings for manufacturing and installation
- Mount Lucent Drive wind turbines in the field: foundations, towers, mechanical assembly and commissioning
- Plan and carry out real-life testing, collect measurement data and report on performance
- Use the test results to improve the design, working with numerical simulation (CFD/FEA) where relevant




- Document designs, procedures and test results clearly

Who we are looking for

- Final-year or postgraduate student in Mechanical, Aerospace or Energy Engineering
- Solid fundamentals in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and numerical simulation
- Proficiency in a CAD package (e.g. SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion, Inventor)
- A hands-on attitude and willingness to work outdoors on installation and testing
- Creativity, initiative and a practical, problem-solving mindset
- Good written and spoken English
