The Local Procurement & Purchase Manager is responsible for negotiating and suppliers management, along with developing and implementing effective purchasing strategies for the defined spent under management. This role partners frequently with Marketing, R&D;, and Supply Chain functions throughout the organization, reporting hierarchically to the Group Procurement Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Manage regional direct spend for mainly chemical purchases.

· Develop effective and efficient procurement strategies for categories under management.

· Negotiates, writes, and reviews complex contracts.

· Collaborate closely with the R&D; organization and manufacturing operations to coordinate portfolio changes either for savings or innovation.

· Identify and implement cost savings projects which meet or exceed company objectives while ensuring reliable support.

· Support cross-functional and multi-regional teams working on new product development and launch planning for equipment innovation projects.

· Manage on-going supplier performance to meet or exceed all metrics regarding service, performance, quality, cost and sustainability.

· Provide support to manufacturing locations on matters related to material shortages, quality issues, savings projects,



network analysis and new product introduction.

· Analyze purchases to develop strategic and long-term procurement strategies

· Maintain awareness of global macro-economic factors that directly impact the company’s procurement costs including global raw material costs, labor cost, transportation cost and foreign exchange. Develop alternate sourcing strategies as these factors begin to negatively impact purchasing operations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Strong knowledge of chemistry and chemical market background is needed

· Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or another related subject

· 5+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain and/or another technical position

· 5+ years of experience working with strategic sourcing methodologies, structured contract negotiations, and supplier performance management

· Effective time management skills in order to facilitate multiple priorities and firm deadlines

· Strong analytical, financial analysis and problem solving skills

· Skilled communication skills

· Must be able to lead projects & teams effectively and drive for outstanding results
