Job Profile

- Position Title: Procurement &
- Outsourcing Manager – Railways Rolling Stock Production &
- Maintenance Equipment

- Industry: Heavy Engineering, Capital Equipment, Industrial Machinery, or OEM Manufacturing

- Location: Thane/ Ambernath

- Reporting To: Director of Operations

- Team – 2 Engineers + 1 Purchase Admin.

- Core Focus: Balancing technical precision, contract manufacturing/outsourcing execution, total cost optimization, and supply chain resilience for timely delivery of manufactured and commercial bought out components.

- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering is mandatory. Additional SCM qualifications preferable.

- Total Experience: 10 to 12 plus years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, purchasing, or sub-contracting within an engineering, capital goods, or heavy machinery manufacturing setting. Proven track record in handling outsourced manufacturing operations (job work, build-to-print, and contract assembly).

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Sourcing &
- Outsourcing Management

- Develop and execute category-specific sourcing and outsourcing strategies for fabricated structures, machined parts, electrical panels, hydraulic/pneumatic assemblies, and critical sub-assemblies that are needed by our factory for final assembly and testing.

- Identify, evaluate, audit, and onboard contract manufacturers, machining job-shops, and component suppliers across India.

1. Technical Evaluation &
- Commercial Negotiation

- Review complex engineering drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM),



material take-offs, and technical specifications alongside the engineering and project planning teams.

- Prepare cost estimations, analyse Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and conduct rigorous commercial and contractual negotiations for long-term price integrity and favourable payment/shipping terms.

- Formulate robust service-level agreements (SLAs) and master service agreements (MSAs) covering warranties, delivery benchmarks, and penalty clauses for non-performance.

1. Supplier Quality &
- Performance Monitoring

- Track and measure vendor performance using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as On-Time Delivery (OTD), Quality NCRs, and cost-reduction yield.

- Coordinate with internal Quality Assurance (QA) and shop-floor teams to resolve non-conformances, material rejections, and root-cause corrective actions (RCCA) at supplier sites.

- Conduct periodic factory audits of outsourced partners to verify manufacturing capacities, safety compliance, and process capabilities.

1. Cross-Functional Coordination &
- Inventory Control

- Collaborate with Production Planning, Project Management, and Engineering to ensure alignment between material availability and manufacturing/dispatch schedules.

- Monitor inventory metrics to prevent production bottlenecks while optimizing working capital.

- Oversee procurement data updates and leverage ERP systems (e.g., SAP B1) for accurate tracking from purchase requisition to invoice clearance.

Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
