Objective: Primary Function of the Principal is to provide leadership and motivate the staff reporting to him/her to strive for superior performance in order to get the best possible outcomes of students as holistic individuals. Principal identifies the annual objectives for the instructional, extracurricular, and athletic programs of the school.

Roles and Responsibilities of Principal

- Reports to management and supervise all school personnel, directly and/or indirectly
- To serve as the chief administrator of a school in developing and implementing policies, programs, curriculum activities, and budgets in a manner that promotes the educational development of each student development.
- Ensure smooth transition of the broad goals of the school and plan accordingly the procedures and schedules implemented to carry out the total school program.
- Ensure that the school program is compatible with the legal, financial and organizational structure of the school system.
- Define the roles, responsibilities and accountability of staff members with consensus of the management.
- Ensure qualified growth of school staff by planning trainings at regular intervals both externally and internally..
- Ensure that the instructional objectives for a given subject and/or classroom are developed,



and involves the faculty and others in the development of specific curricular objectives to meet the needs of the school program.
- The principal provides opportunities for staff participation in all the school program.
- Establish formal work relationship by adopting different techniques to evaluate student progress.
- Recommend for different faculty development programs for the staff to ensure their professional development.
- Supervise and appraises the performance of the school staff.
- Facilitate Organizational Efficiency by maintaining inter-school system communication and good relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Comply with management.
- Orient and induct new staff and new students by providing opportunities for their input in the school program.
- Encourage the use of community resources, cooperates with the community in the use of school facilities, interprets the school program for the community, and maintains communication with community members.
- Manage, direct, and check records on the materials, supplies and equipment which are necessary to carry out the daily school routine. The principal involves the staff in determining priorities for instructional purposes.
- Attending professional conferences, seminars, and workshops in education and/or educational administration as per instructions of management.
