We are looking for a skilled and responsible Phlebotomist to collect blood samples from patients safely and accurately, follow infection-control protocols, and ensure proper labelling and handling of specimens.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples through venipuncture and other approved techniques.
- Verify patient identity and label samples accurately.
- Follow hygiene, sterilisation, and infection-control protocols.
- Handle, store, and transport samples according to laboratory guidelines.
- Maintain patient records and sample collection logs.
- Provide courteous support to patients and help minimise discomfort.
- Ensure proper disposal of needles and biomedical waste.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or certification in Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT), or a relevant field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Good knowledge of venipuncture, specimen handling, and infection control.
- Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and follow hospital protocols.
