– Painting Supervisor

Department: Production / Painting Designation: Painting Supervisor Reports To: Production Manager

1. Job Purpose To supervise and control all painting activities, ensuring the required quality, productivity, safety, and timely completion of painting jobs as per company standards and customer requirements.

2. Roles and Responsibilities

- Production Planning: Plan and allocate daily painting activities based on production schedules and delivery requirements.
- Manpower Management: Allocate work to painters and helpers, monitor attendance, and ensure optimum manpower utilization.
- Surface Preparation: Ensure proper cleaning, grinding, sanding, rust removal, and surface preparation before painting.
- Painting Operations: Supervise primer application, paint mixing, spray painting, and finishing activities as per approved specifications.
- Quality Control: Check paint thickness, colour matching, surface finish, adhesion, and other quality parameters as applicable.
- Material Management: Monitor paint, thinner, and other consumables; control wastage and maintain proper stock records.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper use, cleaning, and maintenance of spray guns, compressors, hoses, and other painting equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure employees use appropriate PPE and follow safety procedures for paint handling, ventilation, fire prevention, and hazardous materials.




- Productivity Monitoring: Monitor daily output, rejection rates, rework, and downtime, and take corrective action to improve performance.
- Documentation: Maintain daily production reports, paint consumption records, inspection reports, rejection details, and manpower records.
- Coordination: Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and Dispatch departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and ensure proper storage and disposal of paints, chemicals, and painting waste.
- Training and Discipline: Train painting employees in work methods, quality standards, safety practices, and workplace discipline.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to reduce paint consumption, minimize defects, improve productivity, and reduce operating costs.

3. Qualifications and Experience

- Diploma in Painting, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant technical discipline.
- Relevant experience in valve industrial painting, spray painting, or manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of surface preparation, paint mixing, application methods, and finishing standards.
- Basic knowledge of quality inspection, safety requirements, and production reporting.
- Ability to supervise manpower and coordinate with cross-functional departments.

Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month
