Job Overview To ensure accurate initial site measurements and final cross measurements before releasing interior projects for production. The Measurement Executive also coordinates furniture masking and surface protection during cross-measurement visits wherever furniture or finished surfaces are already installed. The objective is to minimize measurement errors, production rework, material wastage, installation issues, and damage to completed furniture.

Initial Site Measurement

- Visit client sites and measure rooms, walls, floor-to-ceiling heights, doors, windows, beams, columns, niches, and other relevant site features.
- Measure spaces for modular kitchens, wardrobes, lofts, TV units, crockery units, and custom furniture.
- Record electrical points, plumbing points, appliance locations, and other site constraints. Capture clear site photographs and prepare detailed measurement sheets.
- Identify differences between architectural drawings and actual site conditions.
- Submit measurement details to the design team within the agreed timeline.

Cross Measurement Before Production
- Conduct a final site visit to verify dimensions against approved interior design drawings. Recheck wall lengths, heights, diagonals, corner angles, floor levels, ceiling levels, and critical clearances.
- Verify actual dimensions for kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, lofts, fillers, end panels, countertops, and other furniture components.
- Confirm appliance openings, shutter clearances, drawer movements, and installation tolerances.
- Verify electrical and plumbing points against the approved furniture layout.
- Check whether relevant civil work, plastering, flooring, and false-ceiling activities are complete. Identify and report discrepancies before production approval.
- Coordinate with the Design Manager, Production Team, and Site Supervisor to resolve differences.
- Obtain required approval before releasing final measurements for manufacturing.
- Record revised measurements and maintain version-controlled drawings.

Furniture Marking and Verification
- Mark furniture positions and dimensions on walls and floors when required.
- Verify the proposed placement of wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, TV units, storage units, and other furniture.
- Check alignment with doors, windows, electrical points, plumbing lines, and ceiling features.

- Confirm that physical site markings match approved drawings.
- Photograph completed markings and obtain verification from the concerned team before proceeding

. Furniture Masking During Cross Measurement
- Inspect existing or installed furniture and finished surfaces before starting cross-measurement activities.
- Arrange suitable protective covering for installed wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, countertops, shutters, glass, hardware, and other finished surfaces.
- Use appropriate protective film, foam sheets, corrugated sheets, and floor protection depending on the surface and activity.
- Ensure measuring tools, ladders, laser meters, and other equipment do not scratch or damage finished furniture.
- Protect vulnerable surfaces while checking dimensions near installed furniture. Use masking tape and protective materials suitable for each finish; avoid adhesive residue or damage to laminates, acrylic, veneer, PU, or painted surfaces.
- Carefully remove or adjust protective covering when access to a measurement point is necessary, then restore protection.
- Check that masking is secure and that no furniture surface is left unnecessarily exposed during the activity.
- Photograph existing damage before starting work and report any new damage immediately to the Site Supervisor or Project Manager.

Documentation and Coordination
- Maintain project-wise measurement sheets, cross-measurement reports, photographs, and approved drawings.
- Communicate discrepancies and unresolved site conditions before production release. Coordinate remeasurement after civil or service-point changes.
- Ensure all final dimensions and revisions are shared with Design, Estimation, Production, and Site Execution teams.

Daily Responsibilities
- Review the daily site-visit schedule and confirm access with the client or site supervisor. Complete initial measurements or cross measurements as assigned.

- Check whether furniture masking and surface protection are required and ensure suitable protection is in place.
- Capture photographs, record dimensions, and note site constraints or discrepancies. Prepare and submit measurement reports and drawings.
- Follow up on clarifications, approvals, and remeasurement requirements.
- Update the project measurement and cross-measurement tracker

Authority and Accountability
