We are looking for a hands-on Accountant who can independently manage bookkeeping, financial reconciliations, and management reporting for our U.S.-based e-commerce business.

What You’ll Do

- Maintain accurate books of accounts using QuickBooks Online.
- Record, categorize, and reconcile financial transactions, bank accounts, and credit-card statements.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and month-end closing.
- Reconcile sales, fees, refunds, chargebacks, and payouts across marketplaces and payment platforms such as Amazon, Shopify, PayPal, and Stripe.
- Ensure marketplace settlements are accurately recorded and all outstanding discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
- Calculate and reconcile COGS, including product costs, freight, customs, packaging, and other landed costs.
- Maintain inventory valuation records and identify slow-moving or excess inventory.
- Prepare monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash-flow reports.
- Analyse profitability by product, category, and sales channel, including gross margins and contribution margins.
- Prepare budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and budget-versus-actual reports.
- Track financial KPIs, investigate variances, and explain changes in profitability, margins, and cash flow.
- Identify financial risks, discrepancies, and opportunities to reduce costs and improve profitability.
- Maintain accurate records for U.S. sales-tax and payroll accounting,



coordinating with external CPAs or service providers where required.
- Improve accounting processes, maintain supporting documentation, and ensure timely weekly and monthly reporting.

What We’re Looking For

- 3–5 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably with a U.S.-based e-commerce or product-based business.
- Strong practical knowledge of QuickBooks Online.
- Understanding of U.S. accounting practices, accrual accounting, bank and credit-card reconciliations, AP/AR, journal entries, and month-end closing.
- Experience with e-commerce marketplace settlements, inventory accounting, COGS, and landed-cost calculations.
- Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements, profitability reports, cash-flow forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Understanding of U.S. sales-tax and payroll accounting processes.
- Ability to investigate discrepancies, explain financial changes, and recommend actionable improvements.
- A commercial mindset focused on profitability, cost control, and informed business decisions.

Good to Have

- QuickBooks Online certification.
- Experience working directly with U.S. business owners, finance teams, or CPAs.
- Knowledge of inventory valuation and slow-moving inventory analysis.
- Experience with e-commerce accounting integrations and multi-channel reporting.
- B.Com, M.Com, MBA Finance, CA Inter, CMA India, or an equivalent qualification.
