- Conduct fundamental research to improve lead-acid battery chemistry, including active materials, additives, grid alloys, and separators. 2. Investigate recent materials and process innovations to improve battery cycle life, charge acceptance, corrosion resistance, and sulfation control. 3. Design, fabricate, and test prototype cells under controlled lab conditions. 4. Apply electrochemical techniques (EIS, CV, GITT) and materials characterization tools (XRD, SEM, XRF, etc.) to evaluate performance and degradation. 5. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to transfer laboratory innovations to pilot and manufacturing scale. 6. Develop and implement experimental test plans using a rigorous scientific method and statistical analysis (DOE). 7. Publish technical reports and research findings; contribute to intellectual property development through invention disclosures and patent filings. 8. Stay current with academic and industry developments in lead-acid and other battery technologies.
