About Linewise
Linewise works where software meets precision manufacturing. We partner with machine shops around the world and work with a very wide range of real parts — different materials, machines, processes and industries. Our engineering team sets the bar for how those parts are programmed and made, and turns that know-how into better standards and tools.
The role
We're looking for a manufacturing engineer with broad machining judgement who wants to build and lead a team. You'll be our senior technical voice on CNC work: looking at any machined part — milled, turned, mill-turn or multi-axis — and deciding how it should be made, whether a program will make it, and what it should take. Breadth, judgement and the ability to explain your reasoning matter more than mastery of a single machine.
What you'll do
- Own technical decisions on CNC work across milling, turning, mill-turn and multi-axis parts
- Write and review process plans: setups, workholding, sequence, tooling, cycle time
- Estimate machining effort and cost across very different part types
- Lead and mentor a small team of CAM engineers; bring in specialists for the hardest jobs
- Work directly with partner shops worldwide on technical feedback
- Build the standards,
playbooks and processes the team works to — and improve them with our software engineers
What we're looking for
- 5+ years across several machining processes in a job shop, contract manufacturer, toolroom or new-product introduction role
- Hands-on CAM for milling and turning, plus working knowledge of 4/5-axis and mill-turn
- Ability to read G-code across common controllers
- Strong drawing reading and GD&T; experience with first-article inspection or CMM
- Practical knowledge of aluminium, steels, stainless, titanium and plastics
- Experience quoting or estimating machining cost
- Some experience leading, training or mentoring others
- Explicit written and spoken English
Bonus points
- Exposure to sheet metal, EDM, grinding, welding or additive
- More than one CAM package (Fusion 360, Mastercam, NX)
- Interest in digital manufacturing tools, simulation or automation
What we offer
- Fully remote, international team
- Competitive pay, above the local market
- A founding role in a growing engineering team, with real ownership of how we work
How to apply
Send your CV and a few lines about a part where you changed the process plan and why. Shortlisted candidates do a short paid practical exercise instead of a long interview loop.
