BOM Creation &

- Maintenance

- Create and update Bills of Materials in SAP or equivalent ERP systems (MM/PP modules).

- Ensure accuracy of material codes, descriptions, UoM, routing/linkage, and consumption quantities.

- Maintain proper BOM revision control and ensure timely implementation of ECN/ECR changes.

- Validate completeness and correctness of BOM before release to production.

B. SAP / ERP Responsibilities

- Create and update material master data, BOM entries, alternate BOMs, and change numbers in SAP.

- Check for and correct BOM errors in SAP such as missing components, incorrect quantities, or invalid material codes.

- Coordinate with SAP/IT team for issue resolution related to BOM upload, routing, or MRP errors.

- Support MRP runs by providing accurate BOM inputs and verifying component availability.

- Generate SAP reports such as component shortage lists, BOM comparison reports, and plant-level BOM summaries.

C. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Work with R&D; for current product introduction (NPI) and technical clarifications.

- Coordinate with Purchase for alternate materials and availability confirmation.

- Collaborate with Stores for correct item code mapping and stock verification.

- Support Production and QC teams in resolving BOM-related issues during work order execution.

D. Documentation &

- Compliance

- Maintain documentation of ECNs, approvals, and BOM release records.

- Ensure all BOM‑related documentation is audit‑ready and follows internal QMS standards.
