Junior Accountant – US Accounting (QuickBooks Online)

Shift: Night shift, 6:30 PM – 3:30 AM IST, Monday to Friday

Experience: 1–2 years in US accounting/bookkeeping

Role Summary

You will maintain the books for US-based construction clients in QuickBooks Online. The work includes daily transaction processing, reconciliations, and month-end close support, all under the guidance of a senior accountant.

Key Responsibilities

- Record day-to-day transactions in QuickBooks Online: invoices, bills, payments, journal entries.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly.
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including vendor bills and customer invoices.
- Code expenses to the correct jobs, cost codes, and classes for job costing.
- Support month-end close and prepare draft P&L;, Balance Sheet, and job profitability reports.
- Track retainage receivable and payable on construction contracts.
- Assist with progress billing (AIA G702/G703-style pay applications).
- Maintain vendor records, including W-9 collection for 1099 reporting.
- Communicate with US clients by email for missing documents and clarifications.
- Follow internal checklists and deadlines accurately.

Requirements (Must-Have)

- B.Com, M.Com, or equivalent degree.




- 1–2 years of hands-on experience with US clients in QuickBooks Online. Practical work counts here; a certificate alone does not.
- Solid understanding of US GAAP basics: accrual vs. cash, debits and credits, the accounting cycle.
- Comfortable with bank reconciliations and AP/AR.
- Good working knowledge of Excel: VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic formulas.
- Clear written English for client emails.
- Willing to work night shifts permanently.

Positive to Have

- Exposure to construction accounting: job costing, WIP schedules, retainage, change orders.
- QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification.
- Familiarity with tools like Bill.com (now BILL), Dext, Hubdoc, Gusto, or ADP.
- Basic knowledge of US sales tax and 1099 filing.
