About the Role

Demotic Technologies Private Limited is looking for a skilled and passionate R&D; Engineer with expertise in software development, firmware programming, and network device engineering. The candidate will work on the research, development, customization, testing, and optimization of network routers, Optical Line Terminals (OLTs), and related telecom networking equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Research, develop, and customize firmware and software for network routers, OLTs, and other telecom networking devices.
- Develop, debug, and maintain embedded software, device drivers, and network management applications.
- Work on routing, switching, VLAN, PPPoE, DHCP, NAT, IPv4/IPv6, and other networking protocols.
- Develop and integrate features for GPON/EPON OLTs and ONUs/ONTs.
- Work on device configuration, provisioning, monitoring, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Perform firmware upgrades, bug fixing, testing, and hardware-software integration.
- Analyze existing network equipment and develop customized solutions based on project requirements.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, network engineers,



and product teams to deliver reliable networking products.

Required Technical Skills

- Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Linux-based embedded systems.
- Knowledge of computer networking, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network protocols.
- Hands-on experience with router firmware, embedded Linux, OpenWrt, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of GPON/EPON technology, OLT architecture, and ONU/ONT provisioning.
- Experience with debugging tools, Git, scripting, and software testing.
- Familiarity with SNMP, TR-069, NETCONF, REST APIs, or related network management technologies is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

- B.Tech./B.E. in Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Practical experience in router or OLT firmware development and customization.
- Experience with telecom equipment manufacturers, ISP networking products, or broadband access technologies.
- Knowledge of Linux device drivers, SDK integration, and hardware interfaces.
