Role Overview

We are looking for a

Java Backend Engineer with 4–6 years of experience to design, develop, and scale high-performance backend services for fraud detection and prevention platforms

.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop scalable

Java/Spring Boot microservices for high-volume transactions.

- Build

REST APIs and event-driven services using

Apache Kafka

.

- Design and deploy applications on

AWS

.

- Work with

MySQL/PostgreSQL

, including data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.

- Participate in system design, architecture discussions, code reviews, and pair programming.

- Own the end-to-end development lifecycle including development, testing, deployment, and production support.

- Ensure solutions meet security, reliability, scalability, and compliance standards.

- Troubleshoot production issues and improve application performance and resiliency.

- Collaborate with product, architecture, DevOps/SRE, and other engineering teams.

Must-Have Skills

- 4–6 years of backend software development experience.

- Strong hands-on experience with

Java and Spring Boot

.

- Strong experience in





Microservices and REST API development

.

- Hands-on experience with

Apache Kafka and event-driven architecture.

- Experience with

AWS cloud services.

- Solid experience with

MySQL and/or PostgreSQL

.

- Good understanding of distributed systems, scalability, resiliency, and performance optimization

.

- Experience with

JUnit/Mockito, Git, CI/CD

, and production troubleshooting.

- Strong understanding of secure coding and software development best practices.

Good-to-Have Skills

- Docker and Kubernetes

- AWS ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, CloudWatch

- Redis / Elasticsearch

- Terraform / Infrastructure as Code

- Jenkins / GitHub Actions / GitLab CI

- Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk

- Kafka Streams / Kafka Connect

- Experience in payments, financial services, fraud detection, or other high-volume transaction platforms

- Knowledge of

Python or other server-side languages

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related technical field.
