Role Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Installation & Commissioning Engineer to oversee the deployment, integration, and testing of SCADA systems and Weather Monitoring Systems (WMS) across our utility-scale solar power plants. In this role, you will bridge the gap between field construction and digital operations, ensuring all control systems, data loggers, network switches, and environmental sensors are physically installed correctly, networked properly, and communicating seamlessly with the central monitoring platform.

Travel: Willingness to travel extensively to remote project sites (up to 70-80% travel required).

Key Responsibilities

SCADA & Network Commissioning

- Lead the in office installation, configuration, and testing of SCADA hardware, including RTUs, PLCs, network switches, and fiber-optic communication networks.
- Perform Point-to-Point (P2P) testing, loop checking, and signal mapping between field devices (Inverters, Trackers, Transformers, Meteo stations) and the Power Plant Controller (PPC).
- Configure communication protocols including Modbus (RTU/TCP), DNP3, and IEC 60870-5-104.
- Execute Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)



and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) protocols to verify control system integrity.

Weather Monitoring System (WMS) Integration

- Supervise the mechanical installation, leveling, and alignment of meteorological masts and environmental sensors.
- Wire, configure, and calibrate critical weather sensors including pyranometers (GHI, POI), albedometers, anemometers, back-of-module temperature sensors, and soiling stations.
- Integrate WMS data loggers into the main SCADA network to ensure real-time, accurate environmental data is available for Performance Ratio (PR) calculations.

Site Management & Troubleshooting

- Diagnose and resolve complex networking, wiring, and communication faults during the commissioning phase.
- Coordinate with electrical subcontractors to ensure panel wiring and field instrumentation comply with engineering Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and schematics.
- Enforce strict adherence to site safety guidelines (OSHA, NFPA 70E) and electrical safety practices.

Documentation & Handover

- Redline engineering drawings to create accurate As-Built documentation.
- Compile detailed commissioning reports, loop sheets, and calibration logs for handover to the Operations & Maintenance (O&M;) team.
- Provide basic system orientation and training to site operators upon successful plant energization.

Required Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control, Electronics & Communication, or a related field.

Experience: 3+ years of field experience in commissioning SCADA systems and/or Weather Monitoring Systems preferabbly within utility-scale solar PV plants.

Technical Knowledge:

- Hands-on experience with industrial protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP is a must).
- Familiarity with meteorological sensor brands.
- Understanding of industrial networking, fiber optic splicing concepts, and IP routing.
- Ability to read and interpret Electrical Schematics, Single Line Diagrams, and P&ID; diagrams.
