SOLARA is a quick-growing Indian kitchen brand. We're expanding our manufacturing capability for small kitchen appliances in India, and we're hiring the person who leads it.

What you'll do

- Lead product teardowns and build a full parts list and target cost for each product.
- Decide, part by part, whether to make it, buy it locally or source it globally: housings, heating elements, motors and fans, PCBs and controls, thermal protection, coated parts, wiring, packaging.
- Build the roadmap to full manufacturing in India, with the phasing, capex, tooling, timeline and landed cost at each stage.
- Specify and buy the equipment: injection moulding machines and moulds, pressing, coating, the assembly line, and safety and end-of-line testing.
- Develop Indian suppliers and run tool trials and first-article approvals.
- Get BIS certification under IS 302 and build the quality system.




- Recommend whether we build our own line or use a contract manufacturer, then deliver it across our appliance range.

You've done this before

- 10+ years in small kitchen appliance manufacturing (air fryers, OTGs, mixer grinders, induction cooktops, kettles) at a brand, an appliance manufacturer or a contract manufacturer.
- You have personally moved a product to Indian manufacturing or set up a line, from the parts list to the first production lot.
- You've worked hands-on with injection moulding, tooling, and products built around heaters and motors.
- You know India's appliance supplier hubs and have worked with Chinese contract manufacturers.
- You've taken products through BIS certification.
- You can build a cost model and a capex case that finance will sign off on.
