? WE’RE HIRING | Research Assistant & Founder’s Office Associate

Backyard Botanist | Kolkata, West Bengal

At Backyard Botanist (BB), we work at the intersection of ecological restoration, urban afforestation, agroforestry, biodiversity conservation, and nature-based solutions.

We’re looking for a proactive, organised, and research-oriented individual to work closely with the Founder’s Office, supporting research, client management, business outreach, and day-to-day execution.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working across research, communication, coordination, and business operations while contributing to meaningful environmental projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Research & Documentation: Conduct sectoral research, identify potential clients, CSR opportunities, funding avenues, tenders, and relevant environmental initiatives.
- Founder’s Office Support: Assist the Founder with daily priorities, meetings, presentations, proposals, reports, and internal coordination.
- Client Management & Outreach: Draft professional emails, communicate with prospective and existing clients, support business development, and maintain client relationships.
- CRM & Follow-ups: Maintain the CRM database, track leads and conversations, schedule follow-ups, and ensure timely communication with stakeholders.
- Reporting & Communication: Prepare meeting minutes, progress reports, outreach trackers, research briefs,



and project documentation.
- Coordination & Execution: Follow up with internal teams, partners, and external stakeholders to keep tasks and deliverables on track.

Who Should Apply?

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good research, analytical, organisational, and follow-up skills.
- Comfortable with skilled emails, spreadsheets, presentations, and documentation.
- Familiarity with CRM tools, LinkedIn outreach, and business research is an advantage.
- A proactive, detail-oriented individual who can take ownership and work independently.
