About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on UI Lead to drive frontend engineering across UniCommerce’s product ecosystem. The role involves leading the development of scalable, high-performance, and maintainable user interfaces for complex e-commerce and SaaS products.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Angular/React, strong frontend architecture capabilities, and proven experience leading engineers. You will work closely with Product, Backend Engineering, QA, and other stakeholders to translate product requirements into reliable, scalable, and intuitive frontend solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Frontend Architecture & Engineering

Lead the design and development of scalable frontend applications using Angular/React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.

Define frontend architecture, coding standards, reusable components, and best practices across products.

Build modular, maintainable applications using Angular modules, components, services, routing, and reactive programming patterns.

Drive the adoption of appropriate state management solutions such as NgRx or RxJS-based patterns.

2. Technical Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of frontend engineers.

Conduct code reviews, establish engineering standards, and ensure adherence to best practices.

Own technical decisions, conduct design reviews, and resolve complex frontend engineering challenges.

Promote clean code, testability, maintainability, and continuous improvement.

3. Performance & Scalability

Optimise application performance, load times, rendering,



and responsiveness across complex product workflows.

Identify and resolve frontend bottlenecks, memory leaks, and performance issues.

Ensure applications work reliably across browsers, devices, and different screen sizes.

Drive accessibility, usability, and frontend security best practices.

4. Product & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Product Managers, Backend Engineers, QA, and UX teams to deliver end-to-end product features.

Translate business requirements into technical solutions and implementation plans.

Work with REST APIs and backend services to deliver seamless product integrations.

Contribute to sprint planning, effort estimation, technical documentation, and release readiness.

5. Engineering Excellence

Establish unit testing, integration testing, and frontend quality standards using tools such as Jasmine, Karma, or Jest, as appropriate.

Improve build pipelines, CI/CD processes, and frontend release practices.

Evaluate recent tools, frameworks, and engineering approaches that improve developer productivity.

Drive technical debt reduction and ensure long-term sustainability of the frontend codebase.

Required Skills & Experience

7–12 years of experience in frontend development, with substantial hands-on experience in Angular.

Strong proficiency in Angular/React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive UI development.





Deep understanding of Angular architecture, component lifecycle, dependency injection, RxJS, routing, forms, and reusable component design.

Experience building and maintaining large-scale, enterprise-grade web applications.

Experience with state management, API integration, frontend performance optimisation, and browser debugging.

Familiarity with Git, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern frontend build tools.

Proven experience mentoring engineers, reviewing code, and leading technical delivery.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance architectural quality with product delivery timelines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working on SaaS, e-commerce, order management, inventory management, warehouse management, or supply-chain technology products.

Exposure to micro-frontend architecture and shared component libraries.

Experience with design systems, accessibility standards, and frontend security.

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and cross-functional product engineering.
