Purpose/Objective

The Deputy Manager – Battery Algorithms will be responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing battery control algorithms for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

The role focuses on battery performance enhancement, State of Charge (SOC), State of Health (SOH), State of Power (SOP) estimation, thermal management strategies, battery degradation modeling, and integration with Battery Management Systems (BMS).

Key Responsibilities of Role

- Develop and enhance battery algorithms for lithium-ion and emerging battery technologies used in grid-scale BESS applications.
- Design and implement SOC, SOH, SOP, Remaining Helpful Life (RUL), and degradation prediction algorithms.
- Develop battery state estimation models using Kalman Filters, Extended Kalman Filters (EKF), Adaptive Filters, and Machine Learning techniques.
- Create battery aging and performance models based on field and laboratory data.
- Optimize charging/discharging control strategies to improve battery efficiency, life, and safety.




- Work closely with BMS, PCS, EMS, and SCADA teams for algorithm integration and validation.
- Analyze battery performance data from operating BESS plants and implement corrective actions.
- Support battery characterization, testing, validation, and performance benchmarking.
- Develop thermal behavior prediction and battery safety monitoring algorithms.
- Conduct model-based development using MATLAB/Simulink and other simulation tools.
- Prepare technical documentation, validation reports, and design specifications.
- Collaborate with battery suppliers, technology partners, and certification agencies.
