- Track and analyze price trends of key commodities such as steel, aluminum, copper, plastics, and rubber
- Monitor global market indices (LME, crude oil trends, etc.) impacting raw material costs
- Develop commodity price forecasts to support budgeting and long-term planning
- Conduct should-cost analysis based on raw material price movements
- Support RFQ and product costing with up-to-date commodity inputs
- Work closely with sourcing and procurement teams to validate supplier price changes
- Evaluate and justify supplier price increase/decrease requests based on market data
- Implement price adjustment mechanisms (index-based pricing, escalation clauses)
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through alternate materials or sourcing strategies
- Support contract negotiations with commodity insights and data-backed analysis
- Prepare periodic reports on commodity trends, risks, and impact on product costing
- Assess financial risks due to volatility in commodity markets and suggest mitigation plans
