The automotive MBD profiles we have received so far are not useful for this role. Most of these candidates have very limited modeling knowledge and have only worked on small-scale, linear tasks like translating basic if-else requirements, state-flow transitions, or detailed checklists. This is not what we need.

We need a logically strong Controls Engineer who can own closed-loop control development from scratch and tackle complex multivariable control issues—specifically multiple PID loop arbitration (managing trade-offs where multiple PIDs compete to control a single actuator/valve).

- Where to Look: Look into smaller companies, start-ups, and specialized product engineering firms.
- Target Industries: Source candidates from industrial, robotics, process control, or HVAC/refrigeration industries, where engineers are required to take on multiple roles in the mbd workflow.
- Core Skills to Screen: True energetic loop tuning, multiple PID arbitration, physical system modeling (thermodynamics/fluid dynamics is a plus), and custom C/C++ S-functions.
