Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai for a CNC Setter – Supplier Development – Metal. The role involves setting up and operating CNC machines for metal components, optimizing machining parameters, and ensuring parts meet dimensional and quality requirements. The CNC Setter will collaborate with supplier development and quality teams to qualify and improve suppliers, review machining processes at supplier facilities, and support process standardization and documentation.

Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting technical drawings, conducting trial runs,



troubleshooting machining issues, and maintaining machine tools and fixtures. The role also includes supporting production planning, monitoring supplier performance, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in metal machining and supply chain efficiency.

Qualifications

- Strong analytical skills, including problem-solving, data interpretation, and process optimization capabilities.
- Foundational understanding of finance as it relates to cost reduction, budgeting, and supplier cost analysis.
- Effective communication skills for working with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders, including clear technical reporting.
- Knowledge of supply chain management, including supplier evaluation, development, and performance monitoring.
- Experience in operations management, particularly in CNC machining, metal fabrication, production planning, and workflow improvement.
- Hands-on experience in CNC machine setting and operation for metal components; familiarity with G-code, tooling, and workholding.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Prior experience in supplier development, quality assurance, or manufacturing engineering in a metal or precision machining environment is preferred.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline is beneficial.
