Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and passionate Chinese Chef with 23 years of professional kitchen experience to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating authentic Chinese dishes while ensuring high standards of taste, consistency, and kitchen hygiene. The ideal candidate has strong foundational skills in wok cooking, ingredient preparation, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare, cook, and present high-quality Chinese menu items (including appetizers, main courses, stir-fries, and noodles) according to restaurant recipes and specifications.
- Station Management: Set up and restock the wok and prep stations before each service; maintain proper mise en place.
- Quality & Consistency: Ensure that food taste, portion sizes, and plating meet established standards to minimise wastage.
- Food Safety & Hygiene: Maintain strict compliance with food safety regulations,
- kitchen cleanliness, and sanitisation standards.
- Inventory Control:



Check the freshness of ingredients, discard out-of-date items, and manage food stock using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method.
- Team Collaboration: Work efficiently alongside other kitchen staff during peak rush hours and assist senior chefs when needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Experience: 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience specialising in Chinese cuisine within a restaurant or hotel kitchen.
- Culinary Skills: Strong understanding of authentic Chinese cooking techniques, knife skills, food combinations, and wok mastery (wok hei).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long hours, handle high kitchen temperatures, and lift heavy kitchen equipment if necessary.
- Attributes: Excellent time-management skills, ability to work well under pressure, and a solid team-oriented mindset.
